This post from I Am UU explains the Facebook policy that chooses if you see a page posts on your newsfeed. It affects our UCF page as well. You must check this page occasionally in order to see its posts. See below.... I Am UU Yesterday at 11:42am · Edited · Facebook, in their drive to provide a great user experience and declutter the newsfeed has been filtering out messages from pages you like. This includes I Am UU, the Unitarian Universalist Association, UU World, and your local congregation. The stated intent is, since there are now thousands of organizations, companies, bands, and random topics that people can like, you, the user, cant possibly read everything they each post, or manage to weed out those that post things you dont particularly care about, Facebook chooses based on what you interact with. As a side benefit, Facebook makes money by allowing pages to buy their way into the newsfeed, even if a person doesnt tend to respond to the posts of that page. Religious and nonprofit organizations dont tend to budget for Facebook promotions, and it shows in the number of people our posts actually reach. We need you to choose to see us. We need your comments and we need your clicks. We all need you to mention us to friends when it is relevant, such as typing I had a great morning at (@mychurch) this morning! on Sunday afternoon. Please, interact with your favorite UU pages and show the Facebook computers that they matter and deserve to be seen by people. Other ways to make sure you dont miss anything from pages you select will be shared in a blog post later today, borrowing from information in our last newsletter.
