This post will be a little long. I apologize in advance. The journey started 5/26/2014. My daughter, Emily Heller, and I started training for our very first 1/2 marathon. Who at the age of 53 decides to run a 1/2 marathon? Well you guessed it, that would be me. If it were not for Emily I dont think I could have done this. We have ran in the heat, in the monsoon (thanks David Heller Jr.for your great radar skills) and have ran many 4am runs. We have ran on the beach, in mud and in the woods. We have made many friends (4 legged ones) along the way. We have had many conversations about God, family members, and life in general. The finish line is only 2 days away. Here is my running plan for Saturday. . MILE 1: This is one of the toughest miles for me. So who do you turn to in tough times? I turn to GOD. He is the one who has always helped me through the tough times in my life. I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13. MILE 2: This one is for my dad. Another tough mile for me. Dad was so tough. Dad could fix everything. He never gave up. My rock. This ones for you dad. I will be wearing your cross as I do everyday. Send a butterfly my way. MILE3: This mile is for Nate the Great ,Amy Bisson Sykes, This is the mile I have sometimes felt like giving up. I cant think of anyone who has fought harder than Nate the Great and his beautifull family. I will be wearing my bracelet. MILE4: This is the mile I begin to enjoy running. This mile is dedicated to Cody Richardson. The Relentless 5K race in memory of Cody Richardson was my first 5K that I ran 18 months ago. His story and his family touched my heart. I will always run that 5K. CGR Relentless 5K. MILE5: This is the mile that I feel happy. This one is for Nora Heller, my mother in law, She was the one person that would give her heart and soul to her family, friends, and yes even strangers. Happy Birthday Mrs. Nora!!!! MILE6: This is usually my fastest mile. This mile is for Ryan Heller and Bret Heller. You two have grown up so fast and have become such nice young men. This will be my fastest time. It is for you guys. Hope you guys are proud of old Cleedie. HaHa. MILE 7: This is when I begin to feel comfortable and relax. This is for my biggest fan, my husband. David thank you so much for all the support. I love you so much. MILE 8: This is where I begin to wonder why I am doing this. This one is for my family and friends. You guys have encouraged me so much. I am so thankful for all of you. John Dubiel thank you for the night vision. Beverly Vaeth get my basket ready. Patricia Brandenberg please make me pasta. MILE 9: This is the mile I find myself a little angry. I need to grind it out. So the one thing that makes me angry is when someone hurts my family. Especially my children. This one is for that one person who hurt my child. He konws who he is. I am not giving him or anger credit for this mile, I am turning anger into good energy. MILE 10: This mile I am feeling a little tired. I cant be tired i need to reach deep down and keep going this one is for O.J. Brigance. Against all odds this man keeps going ( O.J. Brigance Brigade foundation) MILE 11: This is the mile I begin to realize I can do this. The one person that has believed in me my entire life is my mom. This ones for you mom. MILE 12: So close and so excited. My uncle is my idol. He has ran many marathons and has given me so much advise. I will do my best to do what you have told me to do and that is look good at the finish. Thanks Louis. Mile 13: This one is for the one person this journey started with, my beautiful daughter. We will cross the finish line holding our hands in the air as we have done in the past. Love you sweetheart. LETS DO THIS !!!!!! On 10/18/2014 I will take all of you with me in my heart through the streets of Bmore for 13.1 miles. When I cross the finish line I am sure there will be tears. As you all know I have a leaking problem.
