This posting made the letter of the day at the Times& Transcript A CAT CAN TURN THE HEART OF A HARDENED CON INTO MUCH To The Editor: We, the inmate population at Dorchester Penitentiary Minimum Sector (formerly Westmorland Institution), were recently advised by our administration that the feline population would be culled from the property. This is particularly distressing as animals, namely cats and dogs, are inherently therapeutic and have a calming effect on people. Anything that can turn cons hardened by decades of incarceration into babbling baby-talking fools is a good thing in my books.
