This practice of restraint was outlawed in all industries for a reason many years ago. In the mental heath industry so many people would either wind up with really bad injuries, quadriplegic or dead as they would panic and the force to take some one down with so much adrenaline almost always would up with some type of negative impact. I taught crisis intervention training for a quite a few years and we where taught to teach a way that is so much healthier and safer for both client and staff even when there is a huge difference in body size. Remember a really big person is going to panic on the way down and with a lot of body size there is probably going to be broken bones which even makes it scarier for them. Just think a 16 hour course would have saved a mans life regardless if he broke the law or not. Can you imagine getting the death penalty for a pack of cigarettes? This is exactly the sentence this man received and didnt even get the liberty of having a fair trial. Just think of if this was you and some one gave a description that matched you. This could have been you and A 16 HOUR CLASS COULD HAVE SAVED YOUR LIFE. Help get these officers in little towns properly trained to help save a life. Maybe even a relative , friend or YOU if you frequent small towns.Help protect our rights and our fellow Americans health and rights as well.
