This probably seems totally random, and I suppose it is, but I used to watch all the Steve Erwin/Jack Hanna/Jeff Corwin stuff growing up about animals and the amazing world we live in. I used to watch dinosaur shows and want to be a paleontologist. Anything animal related. Anyway, I just watched an awesome documentary called Mission Blue (Netflix) about the dying oceans and how it drastically affects us. All of us. Sure, might seem like another fossil fuel/emissions related story, but theres much more to it and its a film worth watching for sure, if not just for the purpose of seeing more of the world...its also a huge initiative that I never really knew about, given that the oceans seems so abundant, I never knew that there was an immediate need to save it. Problem is, when everything is gone, the ocean looks the same from the surface. Anyway, just watch it. Silvia Earle is an amazing human being, and heads up Mission Blue, which will change the way the oceans are protected, much like many of the amazing national parks that Ive visited around the country, except on a much wider scale.
