This provokes a good question. Does a group of people have the right to secede from a larger national state? If the national government declares that Catalonia vote is illegal should the majority of that region be permitted to do so regardless of legalities declared by the nation they wish to leave? Does democracy really matter in issues that free the people from bonds or tie people together? What if a State in America such as Texas voted by a majority to secede, did so, should it be allowed? Finally, would the world not be better if we had smaller nations with no allies, as opposed to large nations with strong alliances? bbc/news/world-europe-29974800
