This quote seems to go along with a situation I encountered this week. I know several of my teacher friends have walked in my shoes over the last few years. I had my first evaluation this year and thought I had quite possibly done the best lesson Ive ever done during an observation. Then when I got my scores, they were the worst ones Ive ever gotten. Whats crazy is the kids enjoyed the lesson, I enjoyed teaching it, and I KNOW they will remember the material Monday, next month, and next year. They really GOT it. So with all of the emphasis on what the evaluation rubric determines to be the quality of our lesson, havent we lost sight of the true meaning of quality education?
