This rant is going to be a bit long for most of you to even care to read but educate yourself before making such public statements! As dramatic as this may sound you could save someone you care about by taking the time to briefly educate yourself. It truly saddens me that such a positive, talented, generous, contributing member of society fell into a dark enough place to end his life. To some it is a tragedy others it may be sad or mean nothing at all. The irritating part of this is the few ignorant people who pass judgment or make such stupid comments for lack of better words asshole remarks. Every 15 minutes someone ends their own life in this country. Yes some may be because of current situations caught up in a horrible moment. But most suffer from some underlying mental illness. In this day and age with almost everything being supported by science, endless research, countless studies pretty safe to say proven facts! how can you even have the nerve to say oh they took the easy way out selfish they are going to hell. It disgusts me. You can have what may seem to others as a beyond perfect life or be down on your luck. none of that matters if you are suffering from depression, being bipolar, post traumatic stress disorder et cetera. Then there are those who start with the addiction factors. Many people with some kind underlying mental illness fall into the dark road of addiction. Maybe unknowingly self medicating. Its not pretty but do you honestly think someone wakes up one morning thinking I want to disappoint everyone in my life that matters, I want to cut myself off from the outside world, feel hopeless, lost, miserable, undeserving, AlONE! Or good morning world id love to be referred to as that junkie no i dont think so. I could go on and on based on a deep understanding of the subject but maybe something positive can come from such a public lose. Maybe one day mental illness wont have such a negative stigma. I feel many people hear mental illness bi polar mood disorder and right away he/she is crazy! Not the case at all. Maybe if people would stop that .. those suffering and their families could be accepted understood empathized with and hopefully lives will be improved and even saved. Maybe some people that need to at least try and see another point of view and consider that others are deeply suffering can open their eyes just a little bit. I know that is a lot of maybes but if the tragedy of a great man taking his own life can save other lives and continue to make an impact on society after hes gone Im sure he would be pleased. Its real whether you accept to believe it or not. smile in public suffer in silence. If you finished reading this i appreciate the fact you cared to hear my thoughts.
