We spend all this time on prenatal visits and all this time looking forward to the birth without spending much time at all talking about the postpartum period. You will be tired and sore. Perhaps with some support...most likely with little to none. You will go back to work too early most likely. Youll be a fluctuation of hormones and anxiety....but no one takes care of you like they should. And then we wonder why women snap. She called her mother in law that morning and said she felt crazy. She had all 3 children in the house only 2 months after giving birth By herself while her husband worked on a car. We arent told that we can reach out. We arent warned that the postpartum period is rough. This type of story could end with proper support. Were failing our women. How many prenatal visits vs postpartum visits did you receive?
