This song appears to be a bit of a hidden gem on the new album. It hasnt received as much attention in the reviews as some of the others, yet it remains the favorite (or at least one of) for us in the band. Perhaps its because it is the last tune (?), the longest one (?), has so many moods within it (?), or because the message is more front and center (?). It does perhaps demand more from the listener to take in as a whole and perhaps a need to decompress afterward. The tune has many symphonic and heavy rock textures, re-occurring themes, a super-melodic Yes-like And You and I acoustic section, a Floydian vibe in another section, a heavy riff section, tuneful melodies in the verses with Beatleesque arrangements, a soaring ambient lead guitar section, some of the most progressive instrumental sections on the whole album, and of course it is filled with all the hooks youd expect from us. Were thinking that The Endgame may be a slow burner deep track that many will discover later on and earn its place as one of many of our listeners favorites. Listen and tell us what you think:
