This song is very special to me, and not because of its subject exclusively, or the fact it didnt come out on regular version of Battle for the Sun. There is a whole story behind it. Placebo played it in Beirut in 2010 as the last song. And I think I know the reason why. There was an uproar in Lebanon to boycott their concert only because Placebo played a day before in Israel. Ridiculous, right? The whole concert have seen surprising amount of army and security forces around the venue. It was in itself a very tense event. Those who regularly go through security screening will know what I mean. Im myself for the whole Drop Beats, Not Bombs thing, and Brian himself lived in Beirut, as a kid. Taking into account Placebo is not a political band at all, the whole issue shocked me beyond. Its the small things like this that show how people think, and why they are stuck where they are, with what they have and how their souls are truly painted. #SurvivingMidEast #DropBeatsNotBombs
