This song was recently introduced to me by my beautiful sisters, they sang a rendition of it at church with their guitar. Its such beautiful artistry! It makes me think of how often times in life we have to deal with things that we never thought would be our lot and in doing so we find we are much stronger than we thought. I heard this fable for the first time a couple years ago and when things get hard and I feel like lifes victim I remember this fable...-what is, is. Its an experience to be had. The experience itself is not good nor bad but who we become and how we deal with that moment has the potential of being good or bad. And keeping that perspective has given me strength:) My favorite fable (塞翁失马) A farmer had only one horse. One day, his horse ran away. His neighbors said, “Im so sorry. This is such bad news. You must be so upset.” The man just said, “Well see.” A few days later, his horse came back with twenty wild horses following. The man and his son corraled all 21 horses. His neighbors said, “Congratulations! This is such good news. You must be so happy!” The man just said, “Well see.” One of the wild horses kicked the mans only son, breaking both his legs. His neighbors said, “Im so sorry. This is such bad news. You must be so upset.” The man just said, “Well see.” The country went to war, and every able-bodied young man was drafted to fight. The war was terrible and killed every young man, but the farmers son was spared, since his broken legs prevented him from being drafted. His neighbors said, “Congratulations! This is such good news. You must be so happy!” The man just said, “Well see.”
