This status is about an imaginary guy named Thomas. Thomas can be of whatever racial origin you choose. Thomas is a young man who was raised in the church by both parents, and after graduating HS and completing his Associates degree, he feels a compulsion to serve God as a teacher. Thomas changes his plans, borrows some money and takes out a loan to pay his way through Seminary. He is diligent, dedicated and eagerly dives into the religious teachings, doctrine and history connected with the church. It is at this time that Thomas learns about the dark history of religion. He learns the origins of Halloween and Christmas, not to mention Easter. Thomas is shocked that these things were never taught to him in all the years he had sat in the church of his youth. Thomas redoubles his efforts to soak up all the knowledge he could, and graduates Seminary near the top of his class. In his hometown, the Pastor of the church he is a member of, dies. Thomas immediately is chosen as a replacement and for a few months, everything is fine, couldnt be better. One Sunday, Thomas takes the pulpit and delivers a sermon called The evil hand behind our holidays, and lays out the wicked history of Halloween as it conflicts with the Word of God. After the service, the Mother board calls Thomas into a meeting. They inform him that they are the ones responsible for his installation as Pastor. They tell him that it is the tradition of the church to allow Halloween, Christmas and Easter celebrations, they had been doing it for the past 50 years. They tell him to STOP teaching anything about those holidays....and they make it clear to him that they can remove him just as easily as he had been hired. What do you think Thomas {and 1000s of other Pastors} do in this very common situation? This is why the Truth doesnt get out to the congregation, the church clergy usually holds the Pastor by the balls, and tradition wins out over Truth in almost every case.
