This story is funny the way its reported, but what troubles me is that this man feels supported enough by his own cadre of bigots that he represents something that is growing in strength in America, this white christian conservative (aka racist) epidemic spreading mostly across the south and the Rocky Mountain or Appalachian states, which feels strong enough to try to flex muscles politically but in ways that are and usually represent tough on crime or free market solutions stances which result in socially damaging policies towards the mostly black and other immigrant groups neighborhoods. Remember, this guy held office for ten years, which means he had an effect on policy at some level.
