This supposedly happened on march 23rd 1994...a medical examiner viewed the body of ronald opus, concluding that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. mr opus had jumped from top of a 10 story building intending to commit suicide, he left a note saying so... as he fell past the 9th floor his life was interupted by a shotgun blast passing through a window which killed him instantly. The deceased was unaware that a safety net was installed just below the 8th floor to protect building workers. Thus ronald opus would not have been able to complete his suicide as planned. The room on the ninth floor where the shotgun blast originated was occupied by an elderly couple, they were arguing and the man was threateaning his wife with a shotgun, he was so upset and mad that when he pulled the trigger he missed his wife and the pellets went through the window, striking mr. opus. when one intends to kill subject A and kills subject B in the attempt, one is guilty of murder of subject B. when confronted with the charge, the old man and his wife were adamant and said that they thought the shotgun was unloaded. The old man said that it was a long standing habit to threaten his wife with the unloaded gun. he had no intention to murder her. Therefor the killing of mr. opus was an accident, that is assuming the gun had been accidently loaded. The investigation turned up a witness who saw the elderly couples oldest son loading the shotgun six weeks prior to the fatal accident. apparently the old lady had cut off the sons financial support, and the son, knowing the habit of his father using the shotgun threatenly, loaded the gun with the expectation of the father to shoot the mother. Since the loader of the gun was aware of this, he was guilty of murder even though he didnt actually pull the trigger. The case now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of ronald opus. Now the twist: Further investigation revealed that the son was, in fact, Ronald Opus. He had become despondent over the failure of his attempt to engineer his mothers murder. This led him to jump off the 10 story building, only to be killed by a shotgun blast passing through the 9th story window. The son Ronald opus, had actually murdered himself. The medical examiner closed the case as suicide....
