This three minute video taught me more than the 300 page book How to Win Friends and Influence People. Being sympathetic, polite, modest, playing it safe, not offending anybody will win lots of friends, but mostly on a surface level. Personally I think sympathy comes from the mind, a result of judging and thinking. Empathy is the key to true connection, to real intimacy via being vulnerable.
