This time last year I made a commitment to regaining physical fitness in my life. I made this decision after a good three years of complaining that it was too difficult to fit into my schedule and too challenging to figure out without even a little bit of much-needed alone time. It all started with a 90-day work-out-at-home fitness challenge, which then gave me the drive I needed to join a gym with childminding services. I can say honestly that for an entire year now I have not missed a single week of fitness. On trips I would make the best of tiny hotel gyms, follow outdoor HIIT workouts on camping trips, visit the nearest gym when we were out of town, run a 10K event even though I never even ran 5K before ... you name it. I tend to be my own worst critic on EVERYTHING and I rarely tell myself, Job well done, because typically all I see before me at any given time is what I have yet to accomplish, where I am still lacking, and what mistakes I have made. But I am taking this opportunity to do something I am not accustomed to doing: revel in a personal accomplishment. I am thankful to God for creating us to be dynamic human beings--no matter age, gender, body, abilities, circumstances, etc.--who are full of potential. And I am so thankful that we can all look to people in our lives to lean on, look up to, and rely on for support. Thanks to a few very special friends (you know who you are!), my husband, and my brother, Ivan Mirosav, who gave me the confidence I needed.
