This time last year I was doing the usual things...going to back - TopicsExpress

This time last year I was doing the usual things...going to back to school meetings, preparing my classroom, writing lesson plans, and visiting Lesley Potts every day at KU. I didnt know it then, but our lives were about to change drastically. At the end of August 2013, Les had to be admitted into a nursing home at age 28. Her precious child, Livi, began living with us and we closed up their little home and stored away most of their belongings. Through it all, I would say that besides Lesley, Olivia was the bravest little soldier of us all. She never lost faith, prayed for her mommy every day, spoke often of the time in the future when mommy would be home and was with us today at KU when we got the news that she would be discharged today. She leapt into her mothers arms and for the first time, after this very long journey, this small, courageous girl wept and wept and wept. Actually, everyone in the room did. There are no words that can truly express this mothers gratitude tonight. Thank you for all of your prayers, kind words, help with countless tasks, loving cards, prayer shawls, and stepping up when I did not have the energy to do so. As Lesley so succinctly put it, Today, I am the exact opposite of who I was a year ago. Praise God for that.
