This update from the Museums Astronomy Program Manager, Javier Rivera: In case you have not been notified or are not yet prepared, a cosmic dragon will partially consume the Sun tomorrow thus signaling the possible end of the world. The Santa Barbara Astronomy Club, the AU, will set up several special telescopes at the Camino Real Market Place to be able to watch this event safely. First contact (when the Moon initially crosses in front of the Sun) will be at 2:06 PM and maximum eclipse (about 45% of the Sun will be eclipsed) will be at 3:26 PM. Last contact will be at 4:39 PM. Hold on world!
