This very old orchard is located on Red Cap Rd. Across from Ferris Ranch (Woodmans) it was originally planted and owned by a German Man Mr. Swagler and was abandoned when he was sent away to an internment camp durring World War II. We found Apple, Cherry, Plum, Quince and a lone Pear tree along with many seedlings, all of which have been struggling to compete for light, all are bent , all need pruning and as we progress with clearing around them you will get to watch this orchard come back to life after many years of neglect. Over the hill we find so many productive trees for traditional food, Tan Oak, Pepper Wood, Huckleberry and so many more.
