This. via Derek Alan Ide: Nothing like a dozen deaths in the heart of Europe to bring out the most utterly reactionary & atrocious politics from, literally, *every* segment of society. No surprise that the state is utilizing this opportunity to push forward with its dual campaign of demonizing immigrants & augmenting its national security powers. Likewise its not shocking that the most overtly fascist elements (#KillAllMuslims) have utilized this shooting as pretext for yet another campaign of vitriol & hatred, one that makes the state look sane in its increasingly racist & invasive practices. Yet its not just these two, the secular liberals, those who claim the mantle of egalitarian enlightenment are flocking to the #JeSuisCharlie campaign, defending what has been for years a vicious, racist, anti-immigrant & anti-black rag that no decent human being would ever want to associate themselves with. Yet, here we are, with the utter racism & degenerate nature of the liberal educated class in full view for all to see. But not only the liberals, Muslims too, from CAIR to whoever else, have taken this opportunity to profess with sincerity that they are not responsible because, after all, one of the French cops killed was Muslim. The mainstream Muslim organizations are trying desperately to win their whiteness, so to speak, by showing they too can walk within the corridors of power. Muslims are cops too, they explain, nevermind the function of police in modern society, nevermind the role the serve within the domestic arena & their carrying out the prerogatives of state power, all that matters is that Muslims can play the game of power too. Not to mention how many Sunnis & Trotskyists & Anarchists have taken this opportunity to somehow turn the discussion to Assad (#brutalAlawiButcher or #secularfascistregime, the opposition cant quite seem to decide which) and Syria, as if Assad were to blame for the monsters trained, armed, and paraded around by the Western powers & their Khaleeji dogs of war. This is by no means an expression of love for Assad, but Assad didnt create this demon, and only those still living in revolution fantasy land can proclaim that with sincerity. No one deserved to die, but god knows there is *nothing* in Charlie Hebdo worth defending, and there is no defense worth pursuing that involves winning whiteness by professing collective affinity towards the police. What is clear, however, is that *nothing* is more effective at evoking rabidly reactionary politics in every segment of society than murder carried out by Western-Saudi backed jihadis, nothing. #JeNeSuisPasCharlie, and if youre not a bigot, then neither are you.
