This video is about my fathers dearest friend from Midland, Texas-- Mr. George OBrien. In most ways he was no different from your dad or mine. Just a peaceful older man who loved his family. My brother, Tony (who George nicknamed Lucky) posted this. I had not seen it until today. The most interesting theme is not so much bravery and awards, but more importantly about love for his fellow men. Theres a lesson I think in George OBriens words about our responsibility for and love of one another that cant be missed. We have immense respect for the Greatest Generation not because they trumpeted their greatness, but because they didnt. They bore untold burdens for us all and I am thankful for their sacrifice. Rest gently your souls. We shall not forget.
