This video is an interesting Philosophical review. I think hes holding back a bit from his verbiage and body language at times. However, its about as balanced as can be. Stephan is a devotee of the Non Aggression Principal with exception of legitimate self defense. So he seems to struggle with his appreciation of the movies artistic qualities and its use of Violence in war. War which is rarely justifiable, and certainly much of America were split on the legitimacy of the Iraq war. Ultimately, movies are fiction... PERIOD! No matter how much truth they occasionally contain, the bulk is always fiction. Messages are often included in the broader narrative via images, phrases and keywords to elicit emotional responses. Humans have always been imperfect and the beliefs we hold dont always jive with reality. Yet, well hold onto them anyway. Were easily swayed this way or that way based on little more then an emotional string pull. IMHO the best role for Warriors is here at home, not overseas fighting someone elses battles. Whatever your view of what those battles are or who theyre for, they are for someone else no matter how you slice it. On that note, were of course still at war, and all the hubbub about ending the war this Administration touts, is nonsense as we continue to fight on several fronts both by remote control and by boots on the ground. While looking to provoke war on more fronts. A strong Military is important and their greatest role is here upholding their Oath. It is also the best way to keep Americans alive and a nation secure. Whatever your opinion of Kyle, some things about him are admirable and some things not so much. Like any human being really, but in the form of a soldier who followed orders sent down from on high. Remember that, the orders come down to the Soldier, and the beliefs of the individual will dictate their response and future responses. Most especially when regardless of your personal beliefs, you and your friends are being shot at. So any measure, might become the best measure youll take to get home alive and keep your friends alive. All the beliefs we use to rationalize our immediate sphere of influence and take with us to the ballot booth, are coercive in nature. We know nothing of other people not having walked in their shoes.
