This video is fantastic! God has given us the gift of agency to choose for ourselves. He helps and guides us to choose the right, but He never forces us! As Elder Christofferson states in his talk, we must use our agency to take responsibility for our lives and go to work. Doing this will bring us more freedom than we could ever imagine was possible. I have thought about some of the many ways in which we can take responsibility. We can cease to make excuses, to blame others, or to justify ourselves of unworthy actions. These things destroy faith, and cause us to be objects who are acted upon, rather than agents who act. No matter what happens to us, we can choose to be creators of circumstances, rather than creatures of circumstances. We can prepare ourselves for the return of Christ to the earth, and for the great judgment day, by choosing now to repent, and become clean in the sight of God. We can prepare ourselves for future calamities by getting an education, developing a strong work ethic, becoming self-reliant and getting out of debt. No one can decide for us, who we will become. We each have the power within ourselves to take control of our own lives! I believe that as we take responsibility, we will have greater personal liberty, and the Lord will bless us!
