This was just sent to everyone here at work. WTF? Do they know something that we dont? If you knew the company, you would say, Oh, hell yes they do! (In BOLD RED LETTERS:) In the near future, we will be conducting a Shelter In Place Drill at this site. The drill will be announced via the site Intercom System. Please review and follow the procedures below, just as if this were a real emergency. Crisis Event In the event of impending crisis event where building evacuation is NOT safe - move away from exterior windows (Best Practice: Close your Office Door as you leave) - proceed quickly to one of the shelter-in-place “Safe Zones” located in the inner core of building - hallway - stay low to ground, sit with back to windows, cover head and neck with your hands - hallway - avoid sitting near large objects (file cabinets, vending machine, bookshelves, etc.) - conference rooms - sit away from windows, close all doors, safest area is under a table - listen for further instructions Remain in Safe Zone until the impending danger / threat has been cleared. A “Safe Zone” is .. .. .. .. - an area within a closed room (conference rooms, rest rooms, fire exit stairwells, etc.) - an area situated away from exterior windows - an area personnel can get to and occupy quickly.
