This was my first apartment that felt like home after losing everything in my divorce. After almost 6 years of living here, Im saying goodbye. Its bittersweet in many ways...I lived alone for the first time since being married, I bought many of my furnishings on my own, and I made this place a home for myself. I planted roses in honor of Huela, star jasmine (my favorite) and strawberries and tomatoes in the backyard. Some nights, the moon would shine through my bedroom window. I wept in the bosom of my mother while my dad prayed over me while in this house. I started Cineladies here, had gatherings and learned to love cooking here. I hosted family here and friends. This house was my sanctuary. In ups and downs, it became my safety place...my comfort. It was here that I found my independence and found myself. As I leave this place to start the next chapter in my life, my memories are filled with so many beautiful moments in this place. To all of you who enjoyed this home with me...thank you. I will miss this place and it will always have a special place in my heart. Luis, thank you for sharing this journey with me...the ups and downs and all the transformations weve gone through. I look forward to our new journey together.
