This was once written by (Iro)Lere Olayinka who is now a Special Abettor (Though hes addressed as Special Assistant by his co-travelers) to Ekiti State Governor on Public Confusion and the Boss at BSCES (Broadcasting Serious Commotion in Ekiti State), one of the people toiling with self inflicted absurdity to market this rotten product called Oshomole in Ekiti State....... Fellow Ekiti sons and Daughters, vents unfolding in Ekiti state sine Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose (Oluwayose), and all the locusts that he brought into Ekitiland were sent packing from the government house have compelled me to write this letter to you. The events have been so worrisome that those of us who took up the herculean task of chasing Fayose and his murderous government away from Ekitiland can no longer be silent; more so that it takes the silence of men of goodwill for evil like the one Fayose unleashed on all of us to prevail in a society. We were able to send Fayose away because the few men of goodwill that we have in Ekiti State did not keep silent and it has again come to a point when those men of goodwill must begin to raise their voice if we do not want to go back to the sordid past. Today, in Ekiti State; hardly can one find an empty space that is not covered with posters of gubernatorial aspirants. As at the last count, there are well over 40 gubernatorial aspirants in the state. This development in a normal society ought to be a thing that gladdens one mind, but in Ekiti state, it is worrisome. It is worrisome because of the characters that are parading themselves as gubernatorial aspirants. People who abandoned Ekitiland for Fayose and his gang of looters and murderers have suddenly re-appeared and have began to assault our collective intellects with messages regarding their suitability for the state governorship position come 2007. Not only that, people who joined and, or collaborated with Fayose in the looting of our treasury, killings of Ekiti sons and daughters and throwing of our moral values to the dogs have also joined them. Among these people too are those who had earlier signified their intention to be senators, House of Reps members, council chairmen and even councilor. They have now become the most visible guber aspirants assaulting our sensibilities daily with their faces, which in a normal society ought to have been buried in shame. The import of this is that the remnants of the tribes of Babel who made Ekiti State a laughing stock in the comity of states in Nigeria are not willing to go to sleep. They are back dishing out money to our people with their blood stained and filthy hands. They are back with the intention of taking over the state again and continue where Ayo Fayose stopped! They want to continue the looting, the killings, the rape of our traditional institutions and the total erosion of our moral and cultural values and we appear to be allowing them! advertisement We ought to be asking them questions but we are not. We ought to be asking them where they were six months ago. We should be asking them what they did when notable Ekiti sons and daughters were being killed, attacked, harassed, assaulted, insulted and blackmailed by Ayo Fayose. We should ask them where they were and what they did when Ayo Fayose and his men were looting Ekiti State treasury with impunity. We should as them where they were and what they did when Tunde Omojola was brutally killed in Ifaki, when nine students of College of Education, Ikere were killed and when Dr. Ayo Daramola was murdered. In particular, the Ikole people should be asking their council chairman who now wants to be governor where he was when Elekole was disgraced on the street of Ado Ekiti be Ayo Fayose. Perhaps, when we ask these questions, we are likely to realize that many of these latter days guber aspirants were the ones who urged Ayo Fayose on while he was committing all these atrocities against the people of Ekiti State. They were the people who gave Fayose the impression that he was invincible and robbed him in Messianic Garment. Some of them even helped him to misinformed President Olusegun Obasanjo on the situation of Ekiti under Fayose and also publicly said that he was the only person that can govern the state at this time. So, where lies their sincerity to Ekitiland? Because if they never saw anything wrong in what Fayose was doing then, I bet if they can do anything other than to loot and kill the way Fayose did if they are made governor. I have decided to get this emotional because we are being presented with another opportunity of doing it right once and for all and if we fail to have a leader that will best represent all the values and characters that we are known for in Ekitiland this time around, we may well forget about having it right again. And having it right is about having the right person as the state governor next year and also getting the right people to occupy all public offices in the state. This explains why it is very important to beware of these emergency philanthropists who are now going about throwing money around in the state. Therefore, it is important for us to have it mind that those colourful posters and billboards are not what we need as determinants for the next governor of the state. What we should begin to consider is the antecedents and characters of whoever that is going to emerge as the governor. It should be about who the person is? What has he done for Ekitiland at least in the past five years? Who are his friends? Is he someone who is going cause Ekiti State fund to be used to develop other states through award of contracts to non-Ekiti indigenes? Does he has enough presence at home that will make it impossible for him to run away the way Fayose did? Is he just coming home now that he wants to be governor? How much of Ekitiland does he know? What did he do to save Ekitiland from Fayoses embarrassment? And above all, how does he intend to develop Ekiti State? In 2007, it is pertinent that Ekitiland will no longer harbour the bunch of criminal that foreign agents like Bode George foisted on us in 2003. We do not need a foreign agent to choose a governor for us. We must elect our own governor not the one endorsed by President Obasanjo, Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Bode George, Governor Bola Tinubu and any other foreign agent for that matter. Most importantly too, Ekiti State does not need a governor that is going to use our resources to develop other states through award of contracts as did in the last three years; a situation that has caused us serious capital flight. And above all, the governor that we desire is one who will rule with love and peace. A governor who will run a government that will be free from nepotism, treachery, discrimination, bribery, corruption and all vices that sap the energy of our state and strengthens the evil forces of sycophancy, mediocrity and opportunism. We surely no longer desire a governor who goes about dancing round the state at slightest opportunity. Ekitiland can no longer afford a drug addict, opportunist, self-serving, kleptomaniac, arrogant, foreigner as governor. I bet we sure know what we want and I am damn sure that our desired governor cannot be among those that have said FAYOSE YESOOOOOOOO before and are now assaulting our sensibilities with the posters and billboards that they printed with the money they made from Ayo Fayoses government. It is therefore important that we should all BEWARE of their blood stained money.
