From my studies I believe the King James Version (KJV) originally published in 1611 and most of those that are prior to 1611 are more complete and accurate then most modern translations. For study purposes and understanding the scriptures it is good to have more then one translation to compare. I personally think the KJV and the Geneva Bible are two of the best translations. If a person finds the old English difficult then I would suggest you own whatever your favorite translation is plus the KJV or the Geneva Bible for comparing to your favorite translation. A good study Bible would be the Thompson Chain Reference Bible in the King James Version. As far as online Bibles go the Bible Gateway biblegateway/ has many different English translations that you can even study up to 5 translations in parallel. Bible Gateway also has translations in many other languages. If you pick your favorite English translation or a couple of English translations then you could even choose another language and using the parallel along with chapter & verse you could copy and paste the Bible in a foreign language to share with someone online." ~ Wm Mazzulla
