Two situations were posed as scenario to define the relationship between capitalism and Tinkundla royal autocracy. These are the main dimensions of the contradictions within the Swazi ruling class for analysis as party of the Summer School 1. Capitalism does not want tinkundla and can bring it down. 2. Capitalism wants Tinkundla but has no power to retain it. The school has to discuss and the following questions were posed to help facilitated the discussions 1. Where is the autocracy helping capitalism to grow? 2. where does it frustrate capitalism? 3. What conditions are necessary for capitalism to optimal in Swaziland economy? If sections of capitalism are opposed to major aspects of tinkundla, how can they be drawn into the struggle for the democracy and with what possible effect? In attempt to answer the questions an attempt to study; - the evolution of royal supremacy - the extent of its destruction to our society - the extend of its erosion / destruction - prospects of a new era without royal dominance In the main, the survival or collapse of the autocracy will be determined by: - growing internal challenge of the regime ( development of the power struggle) - build up of the opposition movement - Intentional pressure.
