This was posted on David Camerons status yesterday You have not delivered Mr cameron,you have made false promises to retain health services in rural areas and if the planned cuts at west Cumberland hospital go ahead they cannot be deemed any less than a criminal act. These cuts and proposed changes on emergency and critical care are putting the lives of many people but most alarming pregnant mothers and unborn children at a high risk, and this is now happening on a daily basis, people are having to be transferred by ambulance from one hospital to another over 40 miles away a journey of well over 1 hour travel time making the so called golden hour spent in transit these transfers are also causing huge waiting times for treatment and beds at Carlisle and putting pressure on all resources at one place but have you intervened, no well this is not good enough for the people of North west Cumbria. So now is the time for you to decide if you are worthy of your position and if you are prepared to do what is right for the people of your own country, over 4000 people attended a meeting at Whitehaven recreation ground to show their support in retaining these services but yet you still wont listen to our mp Jamie reed, in fact Mr cameron your concerns dont even sound genuine anymore when being questioned on these matters, and you havent even had the decency to answer the plea of a ten year old child, who sat down and hand wrote you a letter well we deserve better we want better and if you have any decency then do whats right and make a promise to the people of Cumbria hear our plea and guarantee us our emergency services and care and most importantly that a consultant led maternity unit will be retained, Thank you.
