This week Airseal Insulations Claregalway completed a very prestigious application of Icynene Classic to the domed shaped ceiling of the elegant Galway Cathedral, the total area covered was close to 3000m2 and as you can see from the photos it was a very challenging application which Airseal completed sucessfully. Originally a chemically blown polyurethane foam was specified however after the architect seen the environmental qualtiies of Icynene together with its ability to breathe and facilitate vapour diffusion and bi-directional drying the specification was changed to Icynene Classic which eliminated the considerable condensation risk, made the cathedral much more energy efficient and airtight and improved the acoustic properties of the building, well done to Paul and all at Airseal.
