This week, I spoke at a public meeting in Cleveland about the importance of preventing Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes. This is of critical importance because of the disastrous, irreversible impact they would have on the ecosystem of the Great Lakes. When I was in the U.S. Senate, I introduced both the National Aquatic Invasive Species Act and the Asian Carp Prevention and Control Act. As Attorney General, I joined with the attorneys general of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota in seeking a court order that requires the federal government to create a permanent ecological separation between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River basin. There must be immediate action to protect Lake Erie and all of the Great Lakes. We dont have time to wait. norwalkreflector/article/4035921
