This week I was honored to become the director of education for Method Salon. Being a part of a team based/summit salon is a dream come true. This is an opportunity to not just do hair in a great salon, but to change the lives of salon professionals in central Indiana. Many work more than 40 hours per week to make ends meet. 87% of salons in Indiana are booth rental meaning the stylist rents a chair weekly and pays all their own overhead. Costs of color and products stylists use increase every year yet most stylist refuse to raise prices fearing clients will go elsewhere. They are their own receptionist, cleaning crew and book keeper. They are responsible for all taxes. There is no training or support to teach the stylists how to manage and become successful in their business. Because of this most stylists move or jump from salon to salon seeking a better deal. We are passionate about changing these statistics for stylists in Indiana.
