This week Joseph Pfeifer, D.C., Vice President of Clinic Affairs at University of Western States in Portland, OR visited our facility in anticipation of the arrival of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s first Chiropractic Student Intern. VASNHS’s Chiropractic Clinical Rotation Program, in affiliation with the University of Western States, is designed to help chiropractic students develop a robust clinical understanding of patient care. Our multidisciplinary setting offers a unique opportunity for students to apply clinical skills to patients with complex medical presentations. Our first chiropractic intern, Mr. Arrendale, will be completing his chiropractic education at the end of this year. He will be with us for approximately 10 weeks, working under staff chiropractors Drs. Jovillar and Wenberg, and observing clinicians from a variety of services. We anticipate that this will be the start of a long term relationship between VASNHS and the University of Western States, where Drs. Jovillar and Wenberg have adjunct faculty status.
