This week in GIFT, we will be back into the Bible, and studying - TopicsExpress

This week in GIFT, we will be back into the Bible, and studying Pauls Letter to the Romans. As always, I challenge you to read it before class so we can have a good discussion. There are 16 chapters in Romans. If you read 5 or 6 chapters a night for the next 3 nights, then you could have it done. Just Sayin... Announcements: I was asked to pass this information along to the 7th and 8th grade parents and youth: Hello Everyone, Heres the recap from our meeting yesterday, as promised... First -- Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the meeting! Second -- To all who were unable to attend, please call me if you have any questions that this email does not answer. My cell is 520-0969 We talked about three main things for the reception. 1.) FOOD-Someone donated some items for use during the reception (chocolate covered pretzels & gumdrops). The group decided to also bake a sheet cake to be decorated for the confirmands with cupcakes (we will make about 12 dozen). Baking will be led by Britnie Anderson, on Saturday, Oct. 26 beginning at 11:00 am. We have 3 mixers and about 10 cupcake pans committed already, if you have an extra pan or two and a mixer that you can bring, please do so. Cake mixes & subsequent ingredients are being donated. (Chris Walsh, Bobbi & Britnie signed up to help with this.) 2.) DECORATIONS-(for 7th & 8th grade Confirmands AND Parents) Donna Amundson has graciously offered to help by showing what she has available to decorate the fellowship hall...ALL 7th & 8th grade parents and confirmation students are expected to help. We will begin decorating at 11 am on Saturday, Oct. 26th at FELC in the hall. It was also decided that RED will be the theme color (as it is Reformation Sunday.) (Treutels, Shadleys, Johnsons, Jessmores, Eldridges, Bostics, Wilmots, Tenerowiczs, PLUS 9th grade parents who have offered to help--David & Karen Hayes, Linda & Garrick Martin, Shawn & Michelle Cleverly) ALSO, please note the same 7th & 8th grade parents and confirmands will be serving (we can finalize this on Saturday) during the reception and cleaning up the hall, washing dishes, etc. following the reception on Sunday, Oct. 27th. 3.) FLOWERS-Aundria Sherwood will be ordering and picking up the flowers.(Theme color is RED, BTW). (I did a head count yesterday of the kids at the rehearsal and there are 10 confirmands total - 3 young men, 7 young ladies, names are below). Bobbi Hasner collected the funds (about $5 from each of the 9th grade families to defray the cost). Aundria, if you will get your receipt to Bobbi, shell get you reimbursed. Thank you SO much! Pastor Larry-please let us know if this list of students is incomplete...(THANKS!) Students being confirmed- Marie Cleverly Patrick Novak Makayla Hayes Tessa Sherwood Sarah Lerum Brayden Smith Eliza Langlois-Nims Logan Carpenter Jordan Andrew Christina Martin Please give me a call or shoot me an email with any questions you might have.
