WEST CAMPUS: Bantams – 10:30am till 12:30pm Junior Varsity – 12:30pm till 2:30pm Varsity – 2:30pm till 4:30pm SUNDAY, April 6th: OUTDOOR TRYOUTS! WEST CAMPUS: Bantams – 10:30am till 12:30pm Junior Varsity – 12:30pm till 2:30pm Varsity – 2:30pm till 4:30pm REMINDER!!!!! Get your concussion testing done. You will not be allowed to try out until that is accomplished. Do it!!! The following has been gleaned from various posts on the facebook pages AND the gmen.ca web page. “You may get it done anywhere, BUT be careful of the subsequent assessment charges. Shop around, particularly if you are from out of town. It may still be of benefit to come to Kingston for the testing. I emphasize, this test establishes a ONETIME baseline for concussion testing and applies to ANY sport, not just football. It is also valid I believe for testing down the road. The initial testing does not have to be repeated later in life! Your Grenadier fee does not cover this testing!” “To that end we have negotiated a deal with KATC (kingstonatc 613 507-5282) for the test to be completed there for $25.00. As this is a non sport specific test, that cost is not included in your Grenadiers fees. Further to that, any post concussion follow assessments will cost $15 a session (a major discount) for those (registered Grenadiers) who get the SCAT III assessment done there.” “Please note, you may get the SCAT III baseline done anywhere you choose, but our training staff MUST have the paper results on file before anyone can engage in full equipment contact. For those of you who may have taken another form of baseline testing, unfortunate that system is proprietary and the results are only available to organization providing the assessment, and not to our on field training staff.” BELLEVILLE SCAT 3 TESTING: Available at the Quinte Adolescent Medicine Clinic. Dr. Dempsey works with the Belleville Minor Football League. Phone the office at 613 966 1999 to find out the cost and clinic dates. BROCKVILLE SCAT 3 TESTING: Podium Sports Therapy will run the SCAT III test for $30. Save you a trip to Kingston. Remaining try out dates are – April 12, 13, 19, 26 and 27.
