This week on Fort Benning: The Benning Club will exhibit artwork created by children and teens enrolled in Fort Benning CYSS programs during regular business hours this week. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments free at 5pm today as they view the exhibit. Outdoor Rec will host a free kayaking clinic for ID card holders 12 and older at 5pm Tuesday at Kings Pond. The Employment Readiness Program will host a free resume (and federal resume!) workshop from 8:30-11:15am Thursday at Army Community Service headquarters, Building 7 on Baltzell Avenue. Register your team of four today by calling 706-687-1940. Entry fee is $30 in advance and $40 the day of the event. Starts at 8am and 1pm. Learn to Hunt The Good Stuff Thursday at Building 359 on Ingersoll Street. This free class, from 9:30am-2:30pm , is part of the regular Family Resilience series and includes Building Mental Toughness. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today by calling 706-545-4043. Be sure to ask about free child care. Bark to the Park returns to the dog park on Main Post by Blue and French CYSS Sports Fields from 4:30-6:30pm Thursday. This event is always free and fun for the whole family, but it’s all about your four-legged family members. Train them now to compete in our agility competition. Movies Under the Stars returns to Wetherby Field Friday with The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This event is free, fun for the whole family and open to the public. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs, but leave your pets at home. Guests younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. They cannot be dropped off. We’ll provide the free popcorn while it lasts, and concessions will be available. Gates open early, but the movie starts right at dark, between 8-8:30pm. Middle School & Teen will host Operation Megaphone from 7am April 26-7am April 27. This free lock-in will be held at Building 2649. Participants will share issues and concerns and work with their peers to develop ideas for new activities on post or recommend improvements to existing programs. The top issues will be submitted during the annual Army Family Action Plan Symposium. Participants will receive credit for 15 hours of community service. Turn in your expired or unused medication for safe disposal between 10am and 2pm at the PX on Marne Road. Join us for the popular and free Kings Pond Family Campout April 26-27. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing and more. Representatives from Home Depot will lead wood crafts this month. Bring your own camping equipment or reserve it at Outdoor Recreation.
