This week we will say good bye to one of our dearest Blakes Heaven horses, Ventura. It will be a sad moment, but also one that will bring us much joy, as he transfers to his new owner - Monica Ballard. We purchased Ventura when he was 4 years old for $250 with a firm warning that he could not be broken. 15 years on, Ventura has proven to be one of our most reliable, sensitive, caring and trustworthy horses. And a competitive one too! He has a Shahzada buckle, as well as a State Championship and 2x Quilty buckles + more 160km completions and many division wins and placings in both Lightweight and Junior. Ventura placed numerous times in the Top 10 National Pointscore for the Junior Divison, as well as in NSW. He has over 6000km to his name, and we hope to see him complete even more, after he introduces Monica to endurance at the Scenic City Endurance Ride in 2 weeks time. He has also competed extensively in Pony Club, dressage, show jumping, sporting (he is a forced to be reckoned with in bending!), versatile horse competitions and more. He and Monica competed in their first ODE together last month, one week after he completed the tough 80km at Brookvale with Talea. Ventura is by Ralvon Trekker out of a Sanroblee mare. Though we have tried numerous times over the years, we have not been able to register him. Loving Ventura as much as we do, in 2010 we purchased Wickwood Keera whos grand sire was Ralvon Trekker. In 2011, Keera gave birth to a beautiful mare, BH Adventuress (by BH Carousel), who will carry on Venturas lines in our breeding. Whilst Ventura will be sold, he will be staying nearby with Monica, and we cant wait to help them every where & when we can in their future together! Monica and Ventura - we wish you all THE BEST!
