This weekend Lynne Stauff and I attended the Michigan Sierra Club - TopicsExpress

This weekend Lynne Stauff and I attended the Michigan Sierra Club Chapter Retreat near Shelby MI. This was a very special weekend for us. First, we presented Explore, Enjoy and Protect, Sierra Club Outings, a travelogue about the 5 different National Outings we have been on with the Sierra Club. This is also the 7 year anniversary of when we met on a National Outing in Glacier NP Montana. At the retreat, I was nominated for a Chapter Service Award by the Central Michigan Group of the Sierra Club and was awarded the Sylvania Award. This award recognizes a Sierra Club volunteer who is new on the scene but who has already demonstrated great enthusiasm, hard work and dedication. I want to thank Lynne for giving me the time and space to follow my passion - protecting the environment. I see having clean air and clean water as public health issues. As a cardiac/surgical ICU nurse, I see how poor urban/suburban planning, poor water quality and poor food production/farming practices impacts our lives every day. Thank you also to the Central Michigan Group Sierra Club for your support and dedication to the cause.
