This weekend in Germany we brought together military leaders from 22 European nations to candidly talk about Europes security--the crisis in Ukraine, Russian coercion, the health of the NATO Alliance, and the US role in NATO. These were men and women who are alumni of our professional military education institutions who are now senior leaders in their own countries. We maintain strong bonds with them. American leadership is critical, but only together will we maintain an international order absent of great-power conflict and marked by the free flow of commerce.
