This weekend was a big one for us. Not only did we host 3 adoption events, but we rescued 6 dogs from Dog Dynasty in Santa Fe. Originally there were more than 100 dogs needing help. As of today there were only 28 that had left the building. 71 remain. They need help and we are URGING ALL RESCUES IN HOUSTON to help this situation. Please step in and get these dogs to safety. If every rescue just took one dog they could all be saved. There are many people working tirelessly to maintain the dogs that are there while helping get pictures of them all so they can have a chance to be rescued. Sunday we picked up 4 dogs. Attached are photos of their rescue. One dog has severe skin issues and her head tilts to one side. She has been waiting for someone to help her since February. Today we did and took as many more as we could literally fit in the car. If you would like to help the Dog Dynasty effort you can go rescue a dog, donate food blankets towels and supplies. They also need people to help do laundry very badly. Or if you cannot help with these things you can donate and we will make sure they get the funds specified for Dog Dynasty. We would also be grateful for financial help with the 6 dogs we have already taken as they need extensive medical care and most of them have bad teeth that need cleaned, which is expensive. Today was quite an experience for the volunteers that went to get these 4 dogs. It was myself (Sarah Magill) and Patti Hinson. It took a long time and when we got in the car and drove away we were both overwhelmed with what had just happened and how the dogs were immediately transformed and KNEW they were safe. We could see it in their eyes and big smiles. They will forever be grateful and they will remember us because we are their people now.
