This weekend we put the F back in Family Fun.....Saturday we went to the Reading Fair to watch the motorcycle races, yes all 4 of us went. Sunday SON ran in the HALF-WIT-HALF 2014 MARATHON, placed 6th overall and awarded 4th place in the 0-29 age group. This is a 1/2 marathon trail race, that has various water stations, one with beer. There is a winner for the most beers consumed at this stand, continue the run and crossing the finish line. SON only drank water, so he claims. When the 1st place/winner crossed the finish line, he walked back down toward the trail. He was saying a runner was running with him, then right behind him. He described him as a younger person, wearing a headband and no shirt. I asked him if the headband was pink...I knew it must be SON. He then went on to say this runner missed the turn and went the wrong way. When SON finally emerged out of the woods I took one look at him and could see the anger written all over him. I have learned over the years never go up to him after he finishes, always wait for him to come up to me. When he did he told me he actually ran a little over a mile extra, making one huge unnecessary loop. Im proud of him for not giving up, running harder and finishing in 6th place.
