This weeks DD Directors message and ODDS status report from interim Director and APD/DD COO, Trisha Baxter. My I also say on this eve of a holiday, Happy Independence Day, everyone and be safe! Here is the message: You will notice many items were completed since last weeks report. Reaching the July 1st milestones was a complete team effort and I want to thank the ODDS team, as well as our many partners and stakeholders that have helped us throughout the last year as we have implemented the Community First Choice (K Plan) Option, developed new employment policies, rates and services, responded to CMS review findings, built new functionality within the eXPRS system, and a myriad of other activities. We couldnt have done this work alone. I especially want to thank the ODDS, Regional and CDDP staff that assisted in completing the backlog of in-home assessments. In less than 3 months this team of people came together to complete what many thought could not be done. This was no small feat and they deserve to be recognized. Individuals participating in this effort included: Dan Boyd, Jessie Martin, Shelly Reed, Brent Watkins, Nathan Deeks, Rose Herrera, Kathryn Skyhawk, Rosie Stringer, Acacia McGuire, Kelley Simonson (Lead Scheduler), Fred Jabin, Linda Darr, Rachel Petersen, Chris Thompson, Mathew Veeder, Kay Weckerling, Anastasia (Ana) Angel, Dan Baker, Hannah Bowen, David Tom, Patty Roth, Sarah Bookspan, Lilian Elliot, Martin Hager, Patty Roth, Jennifer Hunt, Mary Reese, Ellen Taylor, Karen Markins, Toi Gibson, Joanne O’Connell, Lori Leskovec, Carolyn Sahr, Brenda Mendez, Peggy Dias, Tully Doyle, and Eleshia Ledridge. To everyone above, thank you so much - your efforts are acknowledged not only by me and others here at DHS, but by our partners at the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) as well. The work of July 1st is now behind us, but we have a lot of work still in front of us. We will be working together to develop the transition plans for the CMS Home and Community Based Settings requirements and to implement the new Department of Labor regulations, to name just two of the large bodies of work ahead. Work will continue around increasing integrated employment opportunities, we will be continuing to explore the work and tools needed to move to one statewide assessment tool, and we will work together to continue moving Oregons ID/DD system forward to achieve greater outcomes for those we serve. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to ODDS services and supports. Have a good holiday weekend! ~Trisha
