When on defense there are few better then the eldest McDonald in open field tackling and rarely can a player muster the speed to out run him. A quality player Sean has not gone unnoticed, being chosen several times for the All Big XII Team and the West All-Star Development side while representing Mizzou.When not playing rugby Sean likes to lounge out in the sweltering Missouri heat while tending his vegetable garden or holding down the net for his indoor soccer team, Hatrick Swayze. A man of many talents and full of experiences; Sean has conquered the Tetons, worn out the white water rapids of West Virginia and canoed to the boundary waters and back. A ageless wonder the inspiration to highlander can be found playing 13 this weekend next to his younger brother McD. Name: Ryan McDiesel McDonald Age: 25 Occupation: Account Manager Position: 12 Previous Club: University of Missouri First Year Playing Rugby: 2005 Other: No matter your knowledge of rugby it will not take long for McD to stand out to you. Far from the prototypical 12, McD combines both pure speed and power. You are just as liable to see him split the gap for a 40 meter scamper as you are to watch him rumble through two would be tacklers and dish out a offload to his support man. However, it is not his offensive prowess that he is most proud of, but his improved defensive game. Going into every game his goal is not to score points, but rather keep points off the board. A hard nosed player, he rarely lets an injury keep him down and leads by example. His play has led him to representative sides such as the Missouri u19s, Heart of America All-Stars and the Missouri Bears. A proud adopted son of Bill Brotemarkle, McD shows his respects by sporting a Fu Manchu, twice a year, that would make Hulk Hogan think twice before messing with him. He is a proud pledge dad to none-other than Ted Porksteak Dunn (God that was a mistake, but hey it was college) and Pledge Grandfather to his own brother and last of the McDonald clan, Tomahawk Joe. He may not like long walks on the beach or sipping Merlot, but he does like a $6.99 steak and a glass of Jameson by 10am and we wouldnt have it any other way.
