This weeks announcement of the hiring of the first City Planner for our city is really the result of vision and leadership that has spanned multiple administrations of our city government; all with a commitment and belief that local government must be prepared for the growth we are to experience, versus spending all of our resources reacting to it. Change of this magnitude does not occur overnight. I am pleased that Paul Keltner has joined us as our Planner, and I am thankful for the leadership of past Mayors Brandon McCulloch, Danny Leverette and Mike Dinwiddie, along with our Mayor Rick Graham who each demonstrated a commitment to move our community forward toward this day. We certainly have much work to do, we always will, but providing our staff with the resources they need is the key to our success.
