This weeks club news starts off with the news that next year we will have two new sponsors with Paul Miller of the Rusilip Concept Specialized store and Matt Burt of M&L property solutions joining triathlon.co.uk as the clubs sponsors. It was a big decision to change sponsors and big debt of gratitude is owed to Jackie and Simon from Beyond who have kindly supported the club for well over 10 years. In that time the club have racked up 100s of wins both locally and even nationally and I for one think the yellow and black jersey is one of the best I have worn. However the decision to change although difficult has been made in the best interests of the club and it is hoped that we will continue to rack up the club wins when the new sponsorship commences in January. Those that have seen the new jersey design which is on our club face book page will have to agree that Stuart with a little input from others including Sam have come up with another design that is very impressive and which a number of people have already voiced their approval. I do realise that a number of people have a large quantity of current club kit and it is expensive funding new kit but as stated we have done this for the future of the club long term rather than short term and anyone buying a new jersey from the shop can exchange an old jersey once they are in stock for a nominal fee. However at the moment and up until the end of December lets wear the Black and Yellow with pride and try and rack up a few more wins for Jackie. Also dont forget we can get 15% off at Beyond or on line so take advantage of her generous offer. Ok at the moment not sure of any racing results this week, although I know the cyclo cross boys were racing and Neil Ellison was competing abroad in the European cross champs so hopefully next week we can report on a good ride by him. Socially there was the usual Wed night ride as well as ride around some of the proposed Bucks Off Road Sportive at the weekend. This week people have been muttering about starting some level 2 training rides in the evenings, so lets see how many are out tomorrow at the Hillingdon cct meet at 6 going onto 8 and if people start committing this can go on through the winter and on Thursday evening we can have an off road session at Black Park same times, although for the next couple of weeks I have some decorating to do so I will not be there. This week we are having the usual evening social MTB ride meet 7p.m. At The Malt Shovel-remember the club does have a set of lights available to borrow if anyone fancies this but lacks candle power. At the weekend a number of us are off to South Wales for 2/3 days Mountain Biking those that are coming please confirm when and how you are getting down. James R is planning on coming down just for the Sunday so if anyone else is short of time and fancies it why not get in touch with James the plan Sunday will be to meet up at the cottage about 9:30 for a ride round one of the Afan routes , post code for the cottage is Jersey Terrace Cwmafan, Port Talbot SA12 9AS. Hopefully someone will also post up a local ride and Sunday for the racers I am sure there is a cross event but there is also a Gorrick MTB event so good luck to those that will be competing and dont forget to let me know how you get on.
