This weeks newspaper article...... Greeting from Harvest Time Church! We are happy to be moved to our new location downtown Westville on the square. We are getting things done a little at a time, but we are conducting services every Sunday and Thursday! I am looking forward to getting all of the painting completed so I can have my first soup kitchen day :) I hope you will be one in the number that will come in and eat a hot lunch with Jerry and I and visit for a while. I have not decided what day of the week it will be but we will get it all figured out soon. I love having service with the big store front window open so all can see. Our first night service we had several groups of young people walk by and look in while Brother Jerry was preaching the word. Praise the Lord! We are looking forward to the day that they all just come on in! My thought for the week has been on dedication to God. I have been trying to understand what it is that is keeping people from serving God with their whole heart, mind, body and soul. It has been almost thirty years since I gave my heart to the Lord and it seems like just yesterday in my mind. I remember that feeling of such great relief. The joy that flooded my soul is just incomparable. When I was first saved, I just could not wait to get back to church on Sunday night and from Sunday night to Wednesday night seemed like eternity. I admit there have been times that I have gone through spells when I found it hard to get to church on Wednesday nights and I went through times in my life that I was not making it. The desire was always in my heart, but my body was unwilling. I am thankful to God to say that I overcame that. As I sit and watch the news on TV, I feel such an urgency in my heart to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the land. There is so much wickedness in the land. Brother Danny asked the question in Sunday School class this week, how can we compare the events that are taking place today to events that led up the destruction of the land and people in the book of Leviticus? I think that the events now are even so much worse now than they were then. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt in my mind that Jesus Christ is coming. Jesus asked Peter.... Do you love me? He went on to tell Peter, if you love me, feed my sheep. It is our duty as Christians to serve God with all of our hearts. We have to be dedicated to him and have our lamps full of oil if we want to be a light to the lost and dying world. You keep your lamp full by going to the house of the Lord and feeding on the word and the testimonies of your brethren in Christ. You keep your oil full by your daily devotion of prayer and reading Gods word, communing with the Father. We as Christians need to get back to our first love. The scripture tells us in Matthew 6:33 ~But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. All of these things are the needs that we have in the world. If we just keep the Lord as number one in our lives he will take care of all of our needs. He knows what we need. We dont even have to ask. He knows what we need and is faithful and just to supply all of them according to His riches in glory. If you dont know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal saviour today, I have good news for you! He loves you and He died for you so that you can have eternal life. There are only two choices when this life is over. There is heaven or hell. Wont you ask Jesus to come into your heart today? He is waiting. All you have to do is ask and He will forgive you of ALL of your sins and come and live in your heart and you will have the assurance that when you close your eyes in deaths sleep that you will be with Him forever in heaven, or when the last trumpet blows and He comes to gather His children home you will go with Him. Until next week ~ “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
