This week’s Black Knight exemplifies what it takes to succeed in all endeavors and certainly in football; PERSEVERANCE. Last week the players had to fight through their workouts in dealing with unusually warm weather. The heat allowed for certain players to step up to the challenge, none stood out more on the 5/6 WHITE Knights than our Black Knight recipient Ethan "Every Down" Estes. Ethan not only persevered a tough week of conditioning at practice, but took it upon himself to condition outside of practice . . . and every bit of it was needed in helping his team secure a victory on Saturday. The WHITE Knights jumped out to an early lead only to see their opponents charge back and take a surmountable lead in return. Ethan worked nearly every play on both sides of the ball, and had every reason to let exhaustion overcome him, but thanks to his hard work all week, Ethan demonstrated a perseverance that helped show his team the strength to finish the game strong. Ethan was a game changer on both sides of the ball. He struck fear in the eye’s of Sunset offense every time he lined up at inside linebacker. He made several sacks, had many solo tackles and was in hot pursuit of the Apollos on every snap. Our offense is progressing every game and is certainly on the path to run like a well-oiled machine - we would not be there without Ethan. Weather he is pulling on a sweep, trapping the defense for his fullbacks or pass blocking, Ethan is a force to be reckoned with. His opponents sure know the feeling of defeat when they have to go up against the man who gives 100% on Every Down.
