This well-known passage, Beloved, I wish above all things that you - TopicsExpress

This well-known passage, Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers from 3 John 1:2 which so many interpret to mean to prosper materially, is actually a subtle reference to Ps 15:12&13 which reads Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should go. His soul will abide in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the (promised) land.. The words wealth and prosperity in the scriptures are actually derivatives of the word Shalom which means wholeness or peace and has nothing to do with our temporal bank accounts.
