This will be my LAST post so I want to end on a good note. Many years ago I asked my students to write a note to someone in their life that meant something to them. It may also be someone who they may have had differences with but the idea was to write a positive note regardless of the circumstances. I did this with all my students and the responses were amazing and kids were excited as to how their lives changed with one positive event. Many were encouraged to do more notes. Some people were skeptical because it may have been out of character or a situation between the two was still ongoing. Evidently it was the case with this one student because my principal called me in for a talk. He had received notice from the school board that a parent was concerned about an activity I had my students do (the one I wrote about above). The parent thought the child was going to commit suicide. I read the note (prior to having it mailed), the principal read the note, superintendent read the note and school board members read the note. No one could see what the parent saw. They all said they wished they had received such a note. It just illustrates the negativity that exists in our world. Again .. I have no reservations but instead challenge you to write a note(s) to those you love and express to them things that are positive in your relationship with each other. The reason for this … my last post is due to fact that I need to be more focus on my work, the people I love and trust you to carry on the encouragement that we all need. I looked back on many of my posts and it would be hard to label me. Some are sentimental, some are informative, some are telling, some are encouraging and some give warning. I tried to not be controversial and found that it was sometimes difficult because of some of the negative that I had to write. In your note … leave ANYTHING & EVERYTHING negative out!! It has to be positive! If there is a problem that needs to be addressed .. do so in private or as an individual discussion. Guys … you were the best. I have the best family in the world and the best friends. I will probably still message you and certainly post a few pictures here and there (ha). I encourage you to look back at my timeline and reread some posts. This voice will be no longer. Just like the voice at Leeper Stadium after 28 years went silent … so will this one. I love you guys. To many of my friends who are still on facebook … keep it up … you are doing a great job in encouraging others. Just remember Success Is An Attitude! Love you guys ...SIAA!!
